Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between psychological awareness and treatment adherence among patients with type 2 diabetes. A descriptive correlational design was employed to collect the data, with a sample consisting of 70 adults (aged 19 years and above) diagnosed with diabetes. The results indicated that the participants’ level of psychological awareness was moderate to high, while their level of treatment adherence ranged from moderate to high, particularly regarding medication adherence. Furthermore, correlation analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between psychological awareness and treatment adherence, suggesting that higher levels of psychological awareness are associated with improved adherence to treatment plans among diabetic patients. The researcher recommends integrating psychological awareness and health education programs into patient care, with an emphasis on enhancing self-efficacy and providing psychological and social support.
