Abstract
The Palestinian Medical Imaging Specialists and Technicians Syndicate was established in 1997 and obtained a license to operate from the Palestinian Ministry of Labor. The Syndicate's membership includes all specialist and technical members working in the field of medical imaging. The Syndicate's bylaws were issued in the same year and amended in 2020. Given the importance of recognizing members' right to the title of "specialist" and distinguishing it from the title of "technician," this study aimed to investigate the nature of the Syndicate's bylaws and identify their shortcomings, specifically examining fairness and equality among professional categories within the Syndicate.
This study was divided into two sections. The first section addressed the organizational foundation of the Medical Imaging Syndicate, while the second section outlined the rules governing the union system for medical imaging specialists and technicians. This was accomplished through an analytical study of the Syndicate's bylaws. The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which was the distinction between specialists and technicians based on the academic qualifications held by Syndicate members. It also made a set of recommendations, the most important of which was the necessity of recognizing the title of "medical imaging specialist" by all relevant parties.
