Abstract
The study aimed to identify the challenges facing vocational education in the southern governorates of Palestine from the perspective of its teachers. It used a descriptive-analytical method and collected data with a questionnaire. The sample included 88 male and female teachers.
The findings revealed that the most significant challenges include: the limited number of vocational schools, the lack of financial incentives and rewards, and the absence of a risk allowance for vocational teachers. The results also showed statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the sample’s responses regarding the challenges facing vocational education in the southern governorates of Palestine, attributed to the gender variable, with differences favoring males. On the other hand, no statistically significant differences were found with respect to the variables of academic qualification, specialization, and years of service.
Based on these findings, the study recommends increasing the financial allocations provided to vocational schools to meet their equipment and technology needs, establishing a plan for regular equipment and supply maintenance in vocational schools, and developing remedial programs to improve the academic achievement of students enrolled in vocational schools
