The extent of the Palestinian public's satisfaction with the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation in dealing with the issues of Palestinian prisoners

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the extent of the Palestinian public’s satisfaction with the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation in dealing with the issues of Palestinian prisoners and to reveal the most important challenges or obstacles facing the official Palestinian media in supporting the issues of Palestinian prisoners. As well as to reveal ways to improve the role of the official Palestinian media in supporting the issues of Palestinian prisoners. The researchers developed a questionnaire consisting of (32) items in addition to open-ended questions to express their opinions. The study sample consisted of (344) respondents from the Palestinian public, where the questionnaire was distributed electronically. The results of the study showed that the overall degree of Palestinian public satisfaction with the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation in dealing with the issues of Palestinian prisoners was average and that the most critical challenges and obstacles facing the official Palestinian media were the inability to renew the discourse to influence public opinion and the weakness of the financial capabilities and human competence competent in this field locally and internationally; The results of the study also indicated ways to improve the role of the official Palestinian media in supporting the issues of Palestinian prisoners, the most important of which was the development of the media cadre, media methods, and the selection of the influential person, as well as non-alignment with certain groups and political parties.
