Abstract
The study aimed to identify the level of openness to experience and its relationship to mindfulness among kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem, and the differences in each according to the variables of, educational qualification,, and years of experience. To achieve this, the descriptive correlational methodology and a questionnaire as a tool for the study were used, consisting of scales of openness to experience and mindfulness applied to an available sample of 142 kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem. The results of the study showed that the level of openness to experience among kindergarten teachers was high, with an average of 3.97 and a percentage of 79%, where “emotions” came first at a high level with an average of 4.26, while “imagination” came last with an average of 3.62. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean of the sample members in the level of openness to experience among kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem due to the variable of educational qualification, and years of experience. The results showed that the level of mindfulness among kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem was high, with an average of 3.99, at a percentage of 79.8%. The field of ”conscious action” came first at a high level, while ”observation” came last. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean of the sample members in the level of mindfulness among kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem due to the variable of educational qualification, and years of experience. The results indicated a positive correlational relationship between openness to experience and mindfulness among kindergarten teachers in the suburbs of Jerusalem. Among the recommendations was the following: maintaining the level of openness to experience among kindergarten teachers and enhancing it through the implementation of training programs designed by the Ministry of Education, as well as maintaining and enhancing the level of mindfulness among kindergarten teachers by holding seminars and workshops periodically.
