Abstract
This research examined the most important legal requirements needed to achieve traffic safety in Palestine, which helps achieve sustainable development goals; achieving traffic safety means positively influencing sustainable development goals directly or indirectly.
The research seeks to answer the following central question: How can traffic safety be reached through the law? By clarifying the concept of traffic safety and its relationship to the law and the most important legal requirements, traffic safety can be achieved; through the protective and deterrent role of the Criminal Code in promoting a culture of respect for traffic regulations. The research concluded that to secure the roads to the people, the vehicle, and the road itself, the law must contain rules criminalizing all acts that threaten those elements. In addition, the legislator must toughen the punishment that is prescribed for traffic offenses to be more deterrent to reduce these offenses and these penalties must be imposed by specialized courts, which are constantly informed of developments in traffic cases Also, everyone who commits corruption to hide the traffic offenders and to escape from the punishment must be held accountable; because corruption is against traffic safety.
