Publishing Policies

Publishing Policies in the Journal:

  1. It is a semi-annual periodical and is issued electronically and on paper.
  2. It is concerned with publishing scientific research and reviews in various fields, and priority is given to those related to security sciences.
  3. The Journal is committed to granting free access to all articles it has upon publication as a contribution to the global information exchange.
  4. Researches are received, answered and reviewed through the email and submission website of the journal by means of an electronic administrative system for the journal.
  5. The response to the research's validity for publication does not exceed four months from the date of acknowledgment of receipt of the research unless there is an emergency that prevents it.
  6. Research is refereed by specialists, taking into account the scientific rank, experience and diversification from inside and outside the country.
  7. The maximum number of research papers published in one volume is two papers per author (one research per issue).
  8. In accordance with academic freedom, what is published in the journal expresses the opinion of researchers only.
  9. Researches or materials sent to the journal's editorial board shall not be returned, whether they have been published or not approved for publication.

Procedures for publishing in the journal:

  1. The research is submitted to the Deanship of Scientific Research faculty at the university electronically through an electronic administrative system for the journal, with a pledge not to submit the work for publishing in another journal and this work has not been previously published.
  2. The research manuscript is prepared based on the publishing specifications of Al-Istiqlal University Journal for Research.
  3. The research manuscript is presented to the journal's editorial board and kept in its records.
  4. A preliminary evaluation of the research is carried out in the Scientific Research Department through a small and specialized committee. This is according to a special model issued by the Deanship in terms of the methodology of preparing the manuscript, its originality, the integrity of the language, and the scientific value. The citation percentage of the research manuscript and its compliance with the publication specifications in the journal are also checked.
  5. In the event that there are notes from the Scientific Research Department, the research is returned to the researcher for adoption before sending it to arbitration.
  6. In the event that the manuscript passes the initial evaluation in the Scientific Research Department, the research manuscript is sent to two arbitrators for arbitration according to a special form issued by the Deanship of the College at the university.
  7. If the researcher is from Al-Istiqlal University, his research may not be refereed by a colleague working at the same university, even if he is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Al-Istiqlal University. If the researcher is from outside the university, his research may be referee by the university’s educational staff if it is in the field of specialization.
  8. In the event of a negative response from both arbitrators, the research will be rejected and it will not be published in the journal.
  9. In the event of a negative response from one of the arbitrators, the original research manuscript shall be sent to a third arbitrator to determine its validity for publication.
  10. The publication of the research is accepted if positive reports are received from both arbitrators, and after the researcher has made the required modifications according to the arbitrators' comments, if any.
  11. It is not permissible to inform the researcher of the acceptance of his research for publication until it has been approved by at least two arbitrators.
  12. The dean of the faculty sends the research manuscript after the researcher has made the required amendments to the head of the scientific research department or his representative, in order to review the required amendments according to the observations of the research evaluators.
  13. A new copy of the research is sent to the arbitrator after making the amendments according to the department head's notes.
  14. If the reviewer of the amendments stated that the researcher did not make the required amendments, the researcher is given a last chance to make them, otherwise the research will be rejected and it will not be published in the journal.
  15. No arbitrator shall be made aware of the results of other arbitrators.
