Abstract

This study aims at identifying the main obstacles that the Palestinian university students meet in carrying out scientific research, and to learning about the support and encouragement that the Palestinian universities provide to their students in conducting scientific research. This study also aims at identifying the suggestions that universities can make for the development and improvement of scientific research among their students.

 The results of the study shows that the most significant obstacles meeting Palestinian university students in carrying on scientific research were the high school burden in the classroom, and the lack of incentives and remunerations for conducting scientific research.

The least obstacles are the lack of scientific resources and references necessary for research, and the lack of computer services that contribute to scientific research.

 In the light of the study results, the researcher has offered a series of recommendations that would improve and develop the reality of scientific research among students of Palestinian universities:

1. Reduce the student's academic burden and provide incentives and remunerations to encourage them to carry out scientific researches.
2. Make university students aware of the importance of scientific research and its role in the enhancement and development of society and the resolution of its problems.
3. Support, encourage and provide special budgets for Palestinian university students in order to support scientific research.
